The core is kept inside the barrel using a core lifter or core catcher. Our core lifters are constructed from premium steel that has been precisely hardened for improved performance and longer life. To break the core sample, a core lifter case is required. The core lifter's tapered inside prevents it from sliding and allows it to grip onto the core sample. The core lifter, also known as the core catcher, is responsible for keeping the core inside the barrel and retaining it during wedge action. Core lifters from RDS Engineering are made of spring steel that has been suitably treated to add more spring action for a longer lifespan. Three essential components make up the core lifter assembly, which enables you to securely grasp the core sample and break it to bring it to the surface. Using the same source for all three pieces will assure optimal performance and provide the right distance between the core lifter, core lifter casing, and stop ring.
